Most people wear a pair of jeans for about two years. They say goodbye to it just at the moment when the denim feels most comfortable. UDIO Fashion transforms these jeans into jackets. In this way we not only create beautiful and unique denim jackets that can be worn for at least six years or more, but at the same time make a contribution in sparing the environment. A true win-win situation.

Denim dialogue
Jianjun Yao is the creative mastermind behind UDIO Fashion. He is as much a designer as he is an artist and philosopher. Jianjun: “I look upon a pair of jeans as a story. Through editing the story I change the jeans into a jacket. In this process the pair of jeans to me is not just material. The original characteristics of the jeans as well as the traces that have been left by its former owner while wearing the jeans, both become participants in the creation. This is not just me talking to myself and
deciding how the jacket is shaped. It is a fusion that is reached through a dialogue that is slowly taking place. Do you realize that at the moment you look at one of our jackets, you are actually being invited to participate into this dialogue?”

Environment-friendly fashion brand
UDIO Fashion aspires to establish an environment-friendly fashion brand. We have started with upcycling jeans into beautiful design jackets. In the future we will expand this to the reuse of all kinds of clothing, sometimes combining it of course with new material.
